Here is a fairly good view of the center instrument panel.
As on the 727, you can see the weather radar and the two navigation radio
controls. The engine instruments only come in pairs here since the
737 only has two engines. :)
The two black things to the left of the landing gear
lever is the anti-lock brake disconnects.
In the center of the glareshield is the autopilot control
panel, an navigation selection system controls.
First Officer's side. At least *this* yoke has
the clipboard panel intact. You will also notice that the yoke is
a mirror image of the one on the Captain's side. All things considered,
this CPT is in pretty good shape considering it's over 30 years old.
To the right of the WX display and under the right hand
nav radio is the HF radio control, OR the transponder control. I
can't remember which it is. :) The upper portion of the throttle
quadrant is also visible.
As it happens, a transformation of sorts recently took
place in the Shop of Dreams. My friend Scott and Robbi turned a mangled
727 throttle quadrant into a 737 throttle quadrant. Judging from
this picture and what I saw them do, it turned out pretty well, didn't
it? :)
